A devotion from praise band/prayer ministry team member, Joyce Lucas

Merry Christmas:

JOY to the WORLD! The LORD has COME.  In our nation for the past few years there are those who want to remove CHRISTMAS from  almost anything that represents the Christ in Christmas.

Last year in her Christmas address to the Commonwealth, Queen

Elizabeth II made a proclamation of the Gospel that is a prophetic sign.  While many nations are replacing “Christmas” with “holiday” and banning all reference to Christ, she spoke over all of England and the Commonwealth:

“God sent into the world a unique person--neither a philosopher or a general---important though they are--but a Savior, with the power to forgive….”

Christmas is about a Person, Jesus Christ, a babe born of a virgin, our Savior, our King.  He came as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world…The last verse from the beautiful carol, O Little Town of Bethlehem, there’s a prayer:

O Holy Child of Bethlehem

Descend to us we pray

Cast out our sin

And enter in

Be born in us today.

THAT’S IT,   Do you get it?  You can never take way the Christ in Christmas because if you have invited Jesus to come into your heart, Christmas lives in you. Christ in you the hope of Glory. (Colossians 1:27)

Our daily lives become a Christmas to ALL.

One of my favorite scriptures is found in Isaiah 60:1...Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.

Another translation from the Amplified states,  Arise from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you--rise to a new life)! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!

We are the “Christmas lights” to the world.  Plug into Christ and share the gospel of love, peace, and joy.

Jesus loves you! He desires to have a relationship with you.  “Reading a book isn’t the same as knowing the person who wrote the book.”  Sometimes we know all about a person, and not really know them. Sometimes we take it for granted that we know all about Jesus, but do we really know Him?

If you would like to begin a personal relationship with Jesus today, please pray this prayer:

Lord Jesus, I invite you into my life.  I believe you died for me and that Your blood pays for my sins and provides me with the gift of eternal life. By faith I receive that gift, and receive You as my Lord and Savior.  Amen

Jesus  made it so easy to come to Him and receive Him as Savior.  This simple prayer that it is….is the beginning of a journey with purpose and destiny that is forever…eternal….forever.  Welcome into the Kingdom and welcome into the real meaning of Christmas…Christ in YOU.
