Our BeliefsWe believe that God is understood in three distinct persons. Father, Son and Holy Spirit are commonly used to refer to the threefold nature of God. This is often referred to as the doctrine of the Trinity.
We believe in one God, who created the world and all that is in it. We believe that God is the sovereign ruler of the universe. We believe that God is all knowing, all powerful, all present and perfectly loving. We can experience His love and grace. We believe that Jesus is both fully human and fully God. He lived a perfect human life and died when He was crucified. He is the one and only unique Son of God. We believe that God raised Jesus from the dead and is alive today. We believe that Jesus is our Savior. In Christ we can receive abundant life and forgiveness of sins and sure hope of eternal life through atoning work on the cross. We believe that Jesus is our Lord and that we are called to pattern our lives after His. We believe that the Holy Spirit is God with us. We believe that the Holy Spirit comforts us when we are in need and convicts us when we stray from God's Truth. We believe that the Holy Spirit awakens us to God's will and empowers us to live in obedience to the Bible through the gifts of the Spirit describes in Romans 12 and 1 Corinthians 12. We believe that God created human beings in His image but that image has been marred by the Fall. We believe that humans can choose to accept or reject a relationship with God but that all humans need to be in a right relationship with God in order to be saved from the eternal consequences of their sin. We believe that the church is the body of Christ, an extension of Christ's life and ministry in the world today. We believe that the mission of the church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ to build the Kingdom of God by spreading scriptural holiness across the world. We believe that the church is called to worship God and to support and encourage one another in a community of faith. We believe that the Bible is God's Word and completely True. We believe that the Bible is the primary authority for Christian faith and practice. We believe that all Christians need to know and study both the Old Testament and the New Testaments of scripture. |
